HORSE SECTIONS SCHEDULE

Entries will be taken on the day – from 9am in the horse secretary’s tent.

IN HAND SECTION
Judging Commencing at 10am
Entry Fee £2.00 per class

Class 1. Welsh Mountain pony.
Class 2. Welsh cob or welsh pony of cob type.
Class 3. Brood mare having foaled in 2012.
Class 4. Best foal.
Class 5. Best yearling.
Class 6. Best 2 or 3 year old.
Class 7. Best section B.
Class 8. Coloured, Spotted or Palomino.
Class 9. Best Part-bred or Pure Arab – any age.
Class 10. Sports potential –Potential Sports/Competition Horse or Pony: any age suitable for dressage, jumping or eventing, now or in the future (no foals).

The In Hand Championship will follow on completion of Classes 1-10.
All 1st & 2nd prize winners will be eligible to compete for the Championship prize £25, Reserve £10 and the Maesyfelin Challenge Cup donated by the Hudson family, Llandovery.

Novelty Classes

Class 11. Child Handler (In Hand – Child under 17 years of age.)
Class 12. Veteran horse or pony (over 15 years of age) (Ridden)
Class 13. Horse or pony the judge would most like to take home – (Ridden)
Class 14. Best Condition and Turnout – (Entries my enter In Hand or ridden)
Class 15. Fancy Dress – (Ridden) Theme is “Olympics” - £25 first prize kindly given by the Rhandirmwyn and District Community Association. (Open Theme for 2013)

RIDDEN SECTION
Judging not to commence before 12pm
Entry Fee £2.00 per class

Class 16. Equitation – To be judged on riding ability only & no jumping. There will be separate prizes for Junior and Senior competitors. Not open to lead rein competitors. Sponsored by Welsh Cottage Cakes
Class 17. Riding horse 14.3hh and over.
Class 18. Ridden Coloured, spotted or Palomino.
Class 19. Best Part-bred or Pure Arab.
Class 20. Lead Rein Pony – Lead Rein pony not exceeding 122 cm (12hh) riders must not have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Ponies to be shown in a snaffle bridle and the lead rein must be attached to the noseband only. A Special prize will be awarded to the best dressed “Lady or Gentleman leader”. Sponsored by Towy Valley Flower Farm
Class 21. First Ridden – First ridden pony not exceeding 128cm (12.2hh) Riders must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Ponies to be shown in a snaffle bridle only.
Class 22. Childs Pony – not to exceed 147cm (14.2hh), Riders 17 years or under
Class 23. Small Mountain and Moorland.
Class 24. Large Ridden Mountain and Moorland.
Class 25. Hunt Horse or Pony: Horse or pony most suitable to hunt in the Towy and Cothi Country, side saddle or astride. (Entries will be required to jump or deal with an obstacle encountered in the hunt field.)
Class 26. Working Hunter - Height of jumps according to height of horse or ponies entered in the class. (The judge may decide to split the class if there are sufficient entries.)

Ridden Championship all 1st & 2nd prize winner’s from classes 16-26
Champion prize £25 – Reserve £10


Class 27. “The Champagne Challenge”
Presenting the “Anthea Bassett Jones Perpetual Award” supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care. (Competitors will be given a “glass” of “champagne” and be required to ride as a “ride” in walk, trot and canter on each rein, as instructed by the judge.
The Winner shall be the competitor who completes the class with the most “champagne” in the “glass”.
Open to all competitors.
Donations from the class will support Marie Curie Cancer Care.


ALL JUNIOR RIDERS MUST WEAR A SUITABLE BS STANDARD
